Getting suited for success with Crisis and Gowling WLG
On Tuesday 13th February we had a great day with Crisis the homeless charity and a staff volunteer group from corporate law firm Gowling WLG. The day started with an interactive employability session with Crisis Work and Learning coach Tom Belte helping a group of nine men from a variety of backgrounds, life experiences and employment histories to explore their employment dreams and aspirations, barriers to employment and how to disclose a criminal record.
Employment aspirations in the group included IT software engineering, personal fitness coaching, business administration, painter and decorator and a self-employed mentouring business.
The group were then dressed and styled by the Gowling volunteer team and provided with a FREE interview suit to take away with them ready for their next job interview.
About Crisis
Crisis is a national charity practically helping people out of homelessness by providing vital support so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good. Crisis offer one to one support, advice to find a home, help with their health and well-being or getting new skills and finding a job. Working with Gowling WLG
Gowling WLG played a big part in bringing Suited for Success to life just over two years ago. The global law firm has continued to support the growth and development of the charity since its conception from providing pro-bono support to securing the property lease of our referral centre, marketing and communication, to regular suit drives in their city centre office on Colmore Row.
